Can I give a 6 yr old Kwells as well as Piriteze? School trip...

DD gets bad travel sickness and will need half to one Kwell for a coach trip tomorrow - she is also taking 5mg cetirizine morning and evening for horrible hay fever.

I think I've probably administered this combo before but I can't remember as it's so long since they've been on a school trip. I've a had a look for drug interactions and can't see anything - would be grateful if anyone knows definitively either way as I'm worrying about it! Thanks

What about phenergan, it works for travel sickness and hayfever? Sorry just realised the trip is tomorrow so you can't go and ask a pharmacist, which is what i would suggest.
You could try looking up the British National Formulary.

PS my Thalictrum Delavayi is just about to flower, its huge this year.

No they shouldn’t be taken together, they interact with each other.
It increases the side effects of both drugs, so your DD might feel more drowsy from both the Kwells and the Cetirazine.

Thanks - no interactions listed on the BNFC (children) so pretty sure its OK. I must have given the combination before as we have the hay fever drama every year and the travel sickness drama every trip! I think the whole first trip since COVID thing is making me panicky!

Enjoy your lovely frothy thalictrum when it flowers!

Yubaba I saw a couple of mentions of potential interactions in vague terms on a couple of websites which is why I wanted to double check - but the BNF(C) does not list any interactions. Isn't that what the GP and pharmacist would refer to?

Sorry just saw your question, we use the EMC www.medicines.org.uk/emc/product/11745/smpc
It’s updated more often than the BNF, but we use both in our pharmacy.

Thanks. That's useful :)
