Please help! Baby in pain

I am really hoping someone can offer me some advice on my 22 month old boy. Since he was about 6 weeks old he has suffered with a very active noisy painful tummy, which interrupts his sleep every night, so much so he only sleeps for a few hours at a time and it’s exhausting for him and me. From early on the Doctor kept fobbing me off with anti acids which have never helped. He can self soothe when he isn’t in pain but this isn’t very often. He has at least two loose stools everyday sometime up to 5 and quite often has undigested food in nappy. When he wakes in pain I can hear his stomach making all sorts of gurgling noises and he is rolling around in pain. He has been dairy free since very early on and I have eliminated so many foods from his diet with no change, it seems all food effects him. The hospital has done an ultrasound on his tummy and taken bloods and nothing showed up. I honestly feel like this is a form of torture for me to watch him every night in pain and no painkillers touch it. I have searched the internet for answers but I can’t find anything and I’m not confusing myself. The doctor is now talking about infant colic but it really is extreme and I feel like she is just saying this because she is out of ideas. Please, can anyone help me?

He needs to be referred to a paediatrician specialising in gastrointestinal issues. Has he been checked for coeliac disease?

First of all, thank you for the reply, at least someone is listening to me. He is under the peads at the hospital but she is giving me the impression she has done all she can do, she has mentioned a few times that he might just grow out of it, it's getting worse not better. Yes they have done bloods for celiac. It's almost as if there is something wrong with his digestive system. I am at my wits end.

It's your right to ask for a second opinion on this. I would.

Definitely ask for a second opinion.

Runny poo is quite common in toddlers, especially the ones who eat a lot of fruit (often nursery packed lunches contain several adult - not child-sized portions of fruit and salad)
Some really don’t cope with beans and lentils either.
Some children are much more suited to a simple old-fashioned menu...boiled egg and soldiers, fish pie, plain biscuits etc
As he is suffering pain Id definitely ask for a referral for another specialist opinion. Obviously you’re both unhappy and need it sorting.
However in the meantime, while waiting for an appointment, I would try a very simple plain diet. Not forever, just until you can get him seen again.
