Hey everyone,
Just wondering if anyone can reassure me, or perhaps share concern about my sons legs and feet.
He is a healthy 8 month old baby, born with spoon toes.
My concern is that anytime he is standing he's always putting one foot on top of the other, the right on top of the left. It's kind of affecting teaching him balance and standing because he just keeps moving it. When I put the foot back on the floor, slightly apart from the other, he will stand on his tip toes on right foot and sometimes with both feet or just put the foot back on top of the other. I have however, observed him keeping both feet flat on the ground for about half a minute at most.
As can be seen in photo, when he does have both feet on flat on ground, one foot atleast looks like intoe or pigeon feet. But when looking at the soles of his feet I can't see any abnormal shape.
Please let me know your thoughts, should I see GP or wait for health visitor next month? Thanks!

He's literally only just old enough to start to learn how to stand up. I wouldn't worry. If you are still concerned, then talk to the HV next month.

Might just be comfortable position for him whilst he’s learning.
My 2.5 year old crosses his legs and put one foot on top of the other whilst leaning against the sofa.

He is 8 months old. I really wouldn't worry. In fact I probably wouldn't have noticed. Mention it to your GP if you like but they may not be able to do or analyse much before he starts walking.
On a separate note, 🥰🥰 baby feet!!!

Does he pull himself up to standing or do you stand him up? If the latter, I would wait until he's able to do it by himself.

@DearTeddyRobinson @MustardRose @Moonshine11
Thanks so much for your responses guys! Im glad I posted on here than embarrassed myself at the docs or with the health visitor 😅 I feel like a nuisance! My other son began walking/cruising at 9 months and so I guess my memory of his progress to that is a bit blurry or I am not taking into account how different they could be! Thanks again guys!

I know yummy little feet and legs xx

figandmaple16 · 03/06/2021 16:29

He can pull himself up, but ofcourse he is still shakey and the only thing that's making him fall is the awkward foot positioning.. I have been reassured by previous posters and I think I'll wait this one out to see if it's just a phase of learning and development.
