Toddler not weeing

My toddler DS (18 month) has now not had a wee since 11am this morning.
We're in the UK and he has been outside most of the day. He has had water, a little more than usual and breastfed often. He just isn't weeing. He's had two poos and both have been quite loose (sorry for tmi) - he's teething so not unusual. He isn't eating atm unfortunately so I couldn't bribe with fruit etc on a hot day as I usually would have - again normal for his bouts of teething.

I don't know if I should be concerned or not as there seems to be conflicting advice? I know he has had drinks. He BF to sleep at 1930 and I've just given him another feed now before I go to bed so I know he's had some more fluids but I checked his nappy and it's still dry.

It is 25 degrees in his room, the windows are open, curtains closed, he's in just a nappy & vest with a light muslin over him. He feels normal temperature.

Would you be concerned enough to do something now in the night or is it reasonable to hold off until morning and hope he's wet his nappy?

Any swelling anywhere?

dopeyduck · 31/05/2021 22:18

Nope, should have said, he's otherwise fine in himself.
What would swelling mean?

My eldest developed a kidney condition as a toddler. He had swelling in his nappy region and belly from water retention. All fine now but it was something I’d never heard of.
Hoping you’ll wake tomorrow to a really soaking nappy! Could just be a warm day and sweating lots.

I would ring 111 for advice. That does not mean I know something is wrong, it'll probably be fine, but it isn't normal and it has been a long time.

dopeyduck · 31/05/2021 22:27

Yes I wondering the same. I hate 111 because they either seem to think you're a neurotic parent that is clueless about looking after a child or they massively over react and send you to A&E when primary care would be more than adequate. Never seems to be any balance.

Anyway, yes, he is known to have the odd dry nappy here and there but not usually all day. The evening is his nappy that is sometimes dry though.

Think I'll give it another couple of hours or so and if nothing then I'll probably have to call.

No other signs of being unwell at all. Apart from not eating but he keeps pointing to his teeth and fake crying and I can see two molars cutting through. He's dribbling like a trooper and his nappy's have been disgusting for 3 days so I'm quite sure it's teething. All normal for him during teething.

By midnight he had done a wee. He is wet this morning but perhaps not as much as usual. Think I'll take him down to the pharmacy and see if they can do some rehydration solution or something just in case but probably don't need to bother the GP.
