How soon can a 7yr old go back to sports etc after a skull fracture?

Hi, DS 7, fractured his skull 19 days ago, after an accident at school. It's a linear fracture and he was admitted and had hourly obs for two days. He was discharged and we were given by a leaflet about concussion and told no follow up required.
It was a huge fright for us and I'm obviously nervous letting him get back to normal. He's back in school but currently staying in for playtime etc and not doing PE but he's desperate to get back to that and his football.
The leaflet we were given follows the rugby union advice but it's based on concussion not a skull fracture.
Does anyone have experience of this or are you a medical professional who can offer some advice/reassurance? I don't want to hold him back but 19 days doesn't feel long for a skull to heal!

Broken bones usually take 6-8 weeks to heal

You need to contact his doctor and check with them

Thanks, that's my plan for tomorrow, I was hoping there would be some sort of follow up appt but the consultant said not when they discharged him.

Ah poor boy! What did the rugby concussion thing say? I'd think he has concussion if he ended up with a fractured skull?!
DS had suspected concussion whilst playing rugby a few years ago but I can't remember what the protocol was. I know he was off rugby for a good few weeks then had to see the club physio before he was allowed back - they took it very seriously

The rugby concussion said 21 days before contact sport, but Im wondering if coupled with a fracture it should be longer. Going to ring the ward he was on tomorrow and ask. Better to Ve safe then sorry! Hope your son is better now!
