White spots suddenly appeared on toddlers teeth

Hi all. DD is 2 and very recently (as in the past couple of days) I've noticed she has some white patches on the bottom of her two front teeth. Weirdly enough it's much more noticeable first thing in the morning and then fades over the day (although it's still a little noticeable).

I've never noticed this before, they just seemed to appear suddenly over the past couple of days. DD has her teeth brushed for two minutes twice a day and doesn't consume a huge amount of sugar (doesn't drink juice) so I'd be very shocked if it's decay!

But what could it be? The only thing I can think of is that she's had quite a bad cold over the past few days so has been breathing through her mouth. I've read that this can cause teeth to almost dry out and become temporarily discoloured?

I've attacked a picture so you can see what I mean. It's not the best as she's quite wriggly, but I hope you can see what I mean!

We will be ringing the dentist on Monday just to be on the safe side.

Thank you 😊

Could be demineralisation (caused by decay or an underlying health condition) or fluorosis (excess fluoride)

My Son's teeth are like this, he is 11. Funnily enough I posted about this in March. We went to the dentist and were told that its hypermineralisation. No one really knows the cause, but its not diet related. We were told that it could be genetic, or it could be cause he had a lot of antibiotics when he was a toddler (this is when the adult teeth form apparently). The teeth are fine at the moment, but he will be having check ups every three months and the dentist has recommended using tooth mousse as well.
