Calprofen + Nurofen same thing different dose?

My daughter is 2.5 years old.
She's had a temperature which I've been controlling with calpol and nurofen only had a bit of nurofen left.
I've run out of nurofen. I do have calprofen though. I've been told they're the same thing but the dosage is 2.5ml calprofen and 5ml nurofen. So why the different dosage? The nurofen was much better at bringing her temp down compared to calpol that didn't work!

Don't know but it's always been like that. I always used the nurofen

They are both the same in terms of the amount of ibuprofen they contain. The nhs advice is 5ml for age 1-3 years.

As above, follow NHS advice. Both are within a safe range for your child, in hospital we would dose the amount per weight when giving.

It is very frustrating when 2 brands of identical drug advertise a different dose, especially when the strength in bottle is the same for both.
