Scarlet Fever..Anyone's DC had it mild?

Hi All my DS had suspected scarlet fever and is not on antibiotics from Sunday night. He's 8.5 months, seemed irritable more than usual for a few days, but of a cough, flushed cheeks (thought it may be teething) and during these days I also had a mild sore throat but didn't think anything of it... Sunday dinner time he came out in a sunburn type rash all over starting on the neck and mainly standing out on the creases (armpits, groin, back of legs etc) .. however apart from this no temp, no "strawberry tongue" etc so confused as gp said either scarlet fever or an allergy.. that morning DS did have a porridge that he'd never had before but looking on the label it doesn't seem like there is ingredients in it that he hasn't had before in other things, however really worries d to give him the porridge again now incase it was a reaction 🤦🏻‍♀️ .... anyone's else's DC had a mild case of scarlet fever similar? X

Scarlet fever rash is like sandpaper not sunburn.
The one that looked like sunburn for mine was slapped face/palvo virus, and was initially thought to be an allergy.

Mine did have scarlet fever very mildly-main symptom was the rash, and I probably wouldn't have spoken to the GP except there was scarlet fever running rife round the preschool at the time. But you can't risk it. You need to speak to the GP.

Neither of my children were really ill with SF.. but they did have antibiotics quickly. So it's hard to know how it could developed. First symptom was the rash. DD1 woke up covered. DD2s rash wasn't as pronounced, but I was watching for it as I knew she would need ABs quickly. (She only needed to see the nurse not doctor since she had a likely diagnosis)

My ds has severe allergies, and also had scarlet fever. It was totally different kind of rash ime. And definitely had high temp.

Funnily enough, my ds has been tested for food allergies because of the reaction to a porridge, although he suffered from eczema since a week old.

My youngest had scarlet fever quite badly (she was like a beetroot particularly her face and back) but she was as rough as sandpaper, her older sister had it mildly but again like sandpaper.

Also neither had the strawberry tongue but both had the temperature and felt rough, youngest especially

Sounds more like slapped cheek than scarlet fever. My DD managed to get both within about 4 weeks of each other.
The scarlet fever also came with tonsillitis and def needed antibiotics.
Slapped cheek I think we managed with calpol and calamine for the rash

Hi All thanks for your responses 👋 for some reason it didn't show up that anyone had! Lol yes DS was straight to out of hours doctors on Sunday after I rang 111 when the rash appeared.. that's how he's came to be on antibiotics because they "suspect" it was that but they've also prescribed piriton as well 🤷🏻‍♀️ on the nhs website and others SF rash is described as sunburn like but DS was deffo not like sandpaper and no temp etc that's why I'm wondering if it was that ... can slapped cheek effect the whole body? His full body (predominantly the creases as per typical SF) was like a beetroot by around 1pm and eventually faded around 8pm xx

With mine slapped face definitely effected the whole body.
DD1 the first I notices was she was in the swimming poll (outside) and she was developing these awful red circles all over her limbs that looked like sunburn. Took her to the GP who said probably an allergy, but keep an eye on it.
Then dd2 got it, much more conventionally. So she had the typical bright red cheeks etc, but she was red all over, but creases were definitely worse.

It definitely wasn't SF as they had that at a different time.
