Hi,

Does any of you or your babies, children got a scar from chicken pox?

Did they improved after month/years or stayed the same?

Does it bother you, or your child?

Thank you!

My dd has loads of crater scars from CP on her face. They haven’t really changed since about a year after she had the Cp. she mentions them now and again but isn’t really bothered by them. She had cp aged 2 and is now 8. She had very severe chicken pox though!

Thank you.

May I ask that her scars are still red or they faded to skin colour?

My DD, now almost 10, has a few craters on her face from particularly nasty pox she was 2. I was a bit gutted at first, but they're part of who she is now and they don't bother her or me in the slightest.

I know it's tough to see their perfect skin with some flaws, but try and put it in perspective - if they're otherwise happy and healthy then nothing else matters.

As an aside, they're completely skin coloured now.

Yes skin coloured so hardly noticeable, if there was only one or two, I wouldn’t notice at all, but she was very unlucky to have a very nasty case, her face was all swollen with hundreds of huge spots. She has a good 12-14 marks that are there, the ones in between her eyes are the most noticeable but only in certain lights. I was really upset at first as she was so scarred and only young. But I don’t worry about them now. She’ll be a spotty teenager before too long and imperfections are just a part of life and tell a story xx

I’ve got a few on my forehead. They’ve honestly never bothered me, they’ve been there as long as I can remember so are just part of my face, and aren’t that noticeable to other people.

DD4 had a horrible dose at 20 months-in her eye, week in hospital. Her worst ones were on her back and stomach and were huge grey scars. They've faded over the years a bit and now white. She also has some white marks on her face too which did fade a bit. I suspect she'll always have the scars but they don't really bother her and I don't really notice them any more as they're just part of her.

My child had awful chickenpox. Hundreds of scars but 9 years later my teen never mentions them and as far as I know their friends haven't noticed them. Torso is by far the worst and of course clothes cover them.

We all end up with marks and scars. Dc3 has pox scars, some are pretty big. But they are alive which is the main thing (was a hospital job). But dc1 has a mark on their forehead from chucking themselves on the floor, and a scars on their hand. Dc2 has a birth mark. I have a scar on my arm from where a cat really did a number on me plus a selection of other scars and marks.

We notice them because we know to look for them but everyone has scars, birth marks, facial features, quirks.
