Dropped my baby from the sofa (not a 3 foot fall)

Hi ladies I’m seriously panicking. I was feeding my 5 week old baby and dozed off and he accidentally fell of the sofa I picked him up straight away and he stopped crying instantly. He didn’t loose consciousness and feed normally from then. No bumps bruising or anything but was wondering should I get him checked or just monitor the situation I’m really stressing out to be honest it seems to be annoying me more than him as he is fine and behaving as normal. I feel absolutely awful I don’t know what to do

Hi ladies thank you all for your advice... we went down to a&e today ds is completely fine thankfully but I was told I did the right thing to get it checked. Also was comforting to know that this happens more often than we all think and that made me fell a little less like a horrible mother. Doctor also informed me that this fall seems to have hurt me emotionally more than ds was hurt physically.

That's great OP. Just do make sure to have a think about where you feed him / plans in case you fall asleep again, to ensure safety.

I managed this at 3 weeks, I cried on and off for a week (hormones). I was terrified she’d die any minute.
With hindsight it was a few inches on to very thick carpet. But at the time I was so ashamed.
