Two skin conditions... are they connected?

My six year old son has thrush and also a really angry red rash on both his hands. I thought maybe the soap at school but he's never had any allergies before (I know they can come at anytime). It seems coincidental that they have both happened at the same time and I'm wondering if it's connected.

We have 1% anti fungal for his genitalia but don't know if it's worth using on his red hands. The skin on his hands is so dry too which is why I thought it might be the hand soap. I put my milk on them which soothes them a bit but not much. I'm going to give him a milk bath tomorrow and see what that does.

Any experience on them being connected or any advice on how to help his hands. His thrush is clearing nicely so I'm not concerned about that at the moment.

I think persistent thrush can definitely be a sign of diabetes, and the other thing could be related, but without any other symptoms it's doubtful?
Some kids just have sensitive skin. Aveeno is brilliant, the regular one with dark blue label.

Thank you. No he doesn't have any other symptoms of diabetes and this is only the second time he's had thrush. I gave him a milk bath and the redness has gone it's just dry now.

If he's been hand washing loads it could be dermatitis or eczema on his hands. Get some hydrocortisone 1% from the pharmacy and some Aveeno.
