My baby gets sick every 2 weeks - need help!

Hi, I have a 14 month old who from age 6 to today got sick 5 times, and now is the 6th time. It is always the same, sore throat, with redness, otitis and diarrhea, 3 in 1. First is the diarrhea and then the temperature starts fluctuating and rising steadilly and when I go to the doctor and she checks him, he already has sore throat and otitis. He has taken 5 times already antibiotics with antivirals, 2 weeks course because it never got fully cured 1 week... I changed doctor again now, it is the 4th one. I am at the end of my powers and mental sanity, I don't knnow what else to do and what blood tests to take, what medicine or supplements to give him or what else to do.

I gave him vitamins and minerals, cod lived oil, D3, Vit C, probiotics, something for immunity and iron, for he had a bit iron deficiency. The blood work only showed that neutrophils and leukocytes were a bit low, sign of an infection. The samples from urine and neck never showed any bacteria or streptococcus.

I mention he does not go to daycare or places with children and adults. Only my mom comes to visit and I take him to the park outside. I also feel that the doctors I have been to were not good enough or just simply prescribed me antibiotics to send me going or something...

I need some advice, thank you!

Ds was like that from 10 weeks old with ear infections. He only stopped them when he'd had grommets put in (aged 20 months-he had around 30-40 ear infections in that time). It does seem to be one of those things with some children.

But why are you changing doctor so much? What really helped for ds was that he tended to see the same doctor (he saw him so much and loved going to see him. He's 13yo and hasn't seen him for about 5 years since he moved on and still occasionally talks about him) so they knew it was an ongoing problem and different things were tried and then he was referred. If he'd been changing doctor it would have been harder for them to see that it was a bigger issue than just an ear infection.

Dd was like this at almost exactly same age. After 5 consecutive courses of antibiotics, Dr gave her a regular dose of trimethoprim to take every evening as a preventative. She's almost 4 now and coming off it soon, under Dr supervision. It was exactly as you described, her ears were always so inflamed. She has done so well since taking the trimethoprim.

Thanks for the feedback, yes he took trimethoprim, it's called sumetrolim in my country. He usually took it after the 1st week of a stroger antibiotic because as I mentioned, it never got fully cured. This other doctor I went to now gave me some other medicine (inosine and dimepranol acedoben), not antibiotics, some herbal remedy and a throat spray. Ds seems good at the moment, temperature fluctuated a tiy bit, but did not rise above normal, tomorrow I do some blood work and continue with the medicine. Hopefully ds will make it this time without antibiotics.

Thanks for the feedback, I am sorry to hear your ds had to go through so many ear infections. I am glad it he is all good now and you managed to cure him.

I changed doctors because I was dissatisfied with them ofc. The first two were really bad, I don't even want to remember, the third one was good in general, but always gave antibiotics, so I wanted another opinion, therefore, I went to another one today. You can check my previous post on what I am giving ds now. This doctor is not a fan of antibiotics, only uses them when strictly necessary.
