Hi my baby is 7 months old yesterday morning when we woke up I noticed she has red spots all over her forehead and cheeks nose when I was bathing her I noticed they was also all over her back and legs and stomach I rang my doctor but they won’t see me because of the virus 🙄 so I had to send a picture in of her face and he said if she hasn’t got a fever she should be fine but it’s not fine it’s all over her body ... has anyone else’s child had this ? This is my first baby so I do panic a lot! I have posted a pic of the side of her leg that’s what she has all over her body

It looks a bit like eczema - is it rough to touch?

BunnyRuddington · 06/03/2021 16:38

Has she had anything new? Like new foods or new washing powder?

She's only 7 months. If you're worried and your GP isn't listening call 111 and ask them for what to do. Always trust your instincts and if you're wrong and it's nothing then there's nothing lost.

HeatherShimmerIsMyShade · 06/03/2021 16:54

Is she well in herself? Happy/drinking/engaging etc? Producing plenty of wet nappies? It's difficult to tell from my teeny phone screen, but it looks a bit like the viral rash my oldest used to get pretty much every time she got a cold. But as PP has said, trust your own instincts and call 111 if you're unhappy or concerned.

I agree about ringing 111, you can never be too cautious with babies. Don't waste time asking MN for advice. I'm not saying it's anything serious but with all due respect you don't know us from Adam. Speak to a professional.

Looks like a viral rash to me. If it's non-fading we used to get sent to A&E but it was a bit of a waste of time as ds used to be totally well and lively with it. They said it it was something serious you can tell by behaviour/sleepiness.

MargaretThursday · 06/03/2021 18:44

Sorry so go to A&E if you're worried and they'll do a blood test, but if they're lively, eating and drinking and not showing signs of illness other than spots, I wouldn't worry too much.

If they are sleepy and not feeding then I would go and make sure.

Looks like viral rash to me too. Gave me a heart attack when DD got one around the same age as she'd just been given her first taste of fish.
Any cold or sniffles a few days ago?

HUGE caveat. I am not a medic. If she stays well In herself and is chirpy and eating well with no temp, I would just keep a watching eye.

The NHS website has a good visual guide for rashes. You can at least reassure yourself it's unlikely to be a long list of scarier alternatives.
