Anyone have any experience of myoclonic jerks and epilepsy in babies

Lo is now 9 months old. From about 6 weeks, she'd wake at 4.30 most nights for a feed then wouldn't go back down to sleep because her legs seemed to agatating her - A cycling motion that seemed to get worse the more tired she got. We put it down to just weird thing a baby did and managed to get around it for a few months whilst she was in her next to me crib.

That motion has now stopped but I'm becoming increasingly concerned about new movements that seem to be getting worse. Her fingers and toes twitch when she's either asleep or trying to get to sleep,to the extent that they stop her getting to sleep. When she wakes in the night,if we take her in the bed,we often have to hold her legs and arms down so they stop moving so she can get some sleep.

The past week or so,her sleeps patterns massively changed, she's been waking up screaming, not crying, like she's scared of something or something's hurt her. Last night,we took her in the bed and the twitching definitely woke her up but a few times, her head twitched and it woke her up.

From what I can see when I Google these types of movement, they seem to fit into myclonic jerks which tend to be harmless but if they're stopping her sleeping may be a cause for concern and also may point to epilepsy. Has anyone else had any experience with what I've described?

Try to catch some footage on your phone - gives you something to show your GP. Also try stilling the movements with your hand. You won't be able to still the movements you get whilst fitting.

When my 6 year old was a baby/toddler he would have odd moments of trembling as though he was freezing or like a parkinsons tremor.

Always worse around falling asleep and waking up.

Definitely get some footage on your phone. And definitely seek medical advice.
They don't sound like infantile spasms the way you are describing them, but watch this just in case as these would be a medical emergency.

My little one had some jerks ongoing for a month or so when he was about 4 months old. He also had what looked like an infantile spasm which I caught on video and ws went to hospital. I had also been recording the jerks as advised by the gp. He was kept in for 3 nights due to the video of the infantile spasm but then discharged to paediaticna when it was clear it wasn't life threading. He had a 24 hour EEG that cleared him of epilepsy. No idea what caused the jerks and spasms.

Definantely video them and seek medical advice. Always best to be safe than sorry.
