Eczema

Hi, my 12 year dd has patches of eczema on her elbows, backs of knees and now top of legs. We have tried emollient, double base, flare up, aveeno, cortisone and it won't go away. At stages is actually quite painful. Anyone found a miracle cure? Oat baths also aren't going to work as we only have a shower.
Thanks

What's your routine? Do you do the shower, dab dry, emollient every single day? Have you literally tried all emollients? We took a long time to find dermal was the only thing that worked when DD was a child. She is now an adult with bad eczema still and uses atopiclair on face, cerave cleanser and moisturiser and dermal still everywhere else. Plus hydrocortisone when needed. Look at antihistamines, diet, everything. DD is allergic to pretty much all soap and shampoo and deodorant. Plus I use non bio still for everyone as DD has a flare up if her sister comes home after using something else ( she lives away obviously this would be one Covid). Also allergic to so many other things! Hay fever and asthma took

What are you using in the washing machine ?

Eczema is difficult. In contrast to the above pp I find one of my DD's eczema is better when bacteria is controlled so I use biological washing powder and Dettol laundry cleanser. She has clean clothes and pjs everyday. She bathes/showers every day using oilatum antibacterial. I find hydromol ointment and epaderm are the most effective for her. When really flared up I use fusidic acid, followed by coconut oil, followed by epaderm, followed by hydromol ointment then cover the skin (so she wears gloves when her hands are bad or cotton leggings at night for back of her knees.)

My other DC's eczema is caused by food sensitivities so it may be worthwhile keeping an eye on.her diet and seeing if there is a reaction.
