Teething at 15 weeks

user1465146157 · 31/01/2021 21:49

Hi my dd is showing all the symptoms of teething
Extra fussy
Flushed cheeks
Lots and lots of dribbling
But there are no yet teeth and it's gone on for a couple of weeks maybe longer

At 15 weeks is this unlikely?

Can you give teething powders if there are no actual teeth? Want to help with any discomfort but safely obviously

Thanks in advance

It's not unheard of to start the teething process early, the first incisors are really awful that way. But can you take a temp and rule out any other illness (no rash etc) ? And just make sure baby is feeding OK, lots of wet dirty nappies etc? Have you got any teether you can stick in the fridge. And you can give calpol (as per dose for 15wks) if its definitely teething pain, that will help baby to settle. What teething powder is it?

My DD started at 3 months and had her first tooth around that time. It’s definitely possible.

We liked iced teethers and calpol half an hour before bed and in the morning.

My DD's (5yrs apart) were both early with teeth, started teething at about 12 weeks and had their firsts just as they turned 4 months, so 15 weeks is definitely possible

Sounds highly likely. My DD had 2 teeth at 3 months which was strange!

thank you! still no sign of actual teeth but definitely all the signs...

Yes - both mine had teeth at 16 weeks.

We used Boots teething powders which did seem to help.
Never had much help with the gels.
Calpol if really unsettled.
Things to chew on sometimes helped, but worked better once older and were better at manipulating teethers etc. You can get some that go into the fridge/freezer - the coldness can help.

Be warned - teeth can eventually appear, and then they can go back into the gum and start all over again.

My little girl started like this, had all the signs that early on, but she's 7 months next week and still no sign of any teeth Sad
