Is this a wart?

This has come up in the palm of my 6yo.
Is it a wart, irnsime grit innit, or a verruca?
Nurse has said to leave it alone, but she says it hurts her. It not infected, but it's also not pleasant either. Any advice welcome!

Verrucas appear on the feet. Could be a wart

Thanks for your reply :( do you know if anything can be done for it? Do they just go?

I had one like this on my palm when I was about 13/14. It really bothered me. GP tried to 'freeze' it off twice and it didn't work, my mum ended up picking it with tweezers and this long tube (guessing like a root?) came out with it. It bled a lot but never returned.

@Russell19 oooh interesting!!! I'm not sure I'm brave enough to do that though. I will ask the nurse if they will treat it. Thanks for replying :)

Use this ,I tried loads of different expensive treatments and this is the only one that worked but it took time, apply it every day and then file the wart down before applying the next dose.

I'd ask the GP, mine just did it there and then when I was there for another reason. The nurse fobbed me off like you've found.

Couple of thoughts... the black bits are probably blood vessels/blood- looks like she's been picking at it a bit.

Try filing it down. Stop before it hurts but do it regularly. You may get to a point where you feel you can see the edge, and can pick at it and peel it off. The tissue is different from normal skin- like the cells in an orange, elongated and shiny. If she's brave, you can pick/pull them out with tweezers. It will bleed like nobody's business.

Or, I think the subconscious is hugely powerful with warts. My son insisted on seeing the GP, because he was fed up with the warts on his hand. The GP assured him they would go. A couple of weeks later we realised they had disappeared. So, get someone with authority to tell her it looks like it's nearly gone. Maybe granny could 'buy' them off her? It's an old folklore solution. Ditto, rubbing them with a gold ring.
