Anyone's toddler had an EEG?

Hi DD is due a sleep deprived EEG soon.
She's almost two but quite delayed, I can find lots of advice for preparing a child for an EEG but not (pretty much) a baby. So have a few questions, probably all silly ones -

What happens if she pulls the electrodes of and won't let them do it?

If she screams and cries will it interfere with the readings?

When they do flashing light tests, what happens if she looks away/shuts her eyes?

What happens if she won't sleep at all?

What happens if the result is normal?
Will she have multiple until they show 'something"?
Can they make a diagnosis based of video's of her having seizures?

I suppose that can all be summed up in one question, What happens if the entire experience is a total shit show?

Can you ask for some chloral to sedate them?
Also use coconut oil afterwards to get the glue out

They will record your videos for analysis too

I meant melatonin sorry not chloral

DS had one at 24 months. We took a tablet and snacks to distract him and he sat on my lap while they put the electrodes on. I said he was a fiddler so they put like a hairnet over his head (it was very light, he tolerated it and he won't wear hats). It took bloody ages to get him to sleep but the technician was patient and didn't rush us.

DS didn't do any of the movements causing concern during his so we had a 24 hour one a week or so later. On this one there was a button to press if he had any seizure type activity and we had to write down the time and what he was doing at the time, eg watching TV.

If I can help anymore ask away.

Thank you both, very helpful. It seems so scary but I know it's not really.
