Just wondering if anyone else has a teenager diagnosed with this? My 15 yo daughter developed a headache on 23 November and it has not gone away (even for a minute) since. It is like pressure all over her head. She has had a clear MRI. No medications are making any difference so far. We have seen a neurologist who thinks it is is but I know it is hard to treat so looking for experiences of others which may help.

Hello! My daughter was 16 when she got a headache after a bad enterovirus. She has had it everyday 24x7 ever since. She's about to turn 18. I'm sorry that your daughter may be suffering from the same. We have tried many treatments and I can share some things that have helped her if you're interested. Like you all, no meds ever worked for my girl and in fact, many came with awful side effects so we gave up on them.

Thank you but how depressing! Has she been diagnosed with NPDH? Has anything worked even partially for her? And how has she managed with school work and exams? Has she learned to cope with it? Sorry last question for now- did she try Botox? Thank you.

Sorry meant to say that a boy in our village developed much the same thing and he also tried everything. He had it for two years and then it just went away so there is hope.

Thankfully yes for my daughter who is now 18. It turned out that she had extremely stiff neck and upper back muscles (we don't know how these developed) and we found an exceptional osteopath. After several treatments the pain disappeared. We feel so grateful to have found him. She still sees him intermittently just to check everything is well. Interestingly, when she saw the consultant neurologist at the Portland Hospital in December 2020, he noted these stiff muscles but because she told him they didn't hurt he didn't suggest any further investigation. So it turned out she never had NDPH.

aw that’s great news and very interesting; I have neck issues but every professional i speak to (gp, physio, neurologist) don’t seem to think it’s connected to my headaches based on the areas my neck is affected but what caught my eye about your post was the pressure - it’s not normal headaches - it’s a pressure 24/7. Thank you for replying and clad it’s all sorted for your daughter x
