High blood pressure in 6 year old

DD had a check up today for urinary tract infections from when she was a baby. They picked up scarring on her kidneys from a scan. They are just keeping her on the books basically with annual check ups.
They took her blood pressure today as kidney damage can cause high blood pressure, and it was 135 over 79. The doctor was quite surprised at it but didn’t really say too much about it. Just that they would keep an eye on her.
Does anyone have any experience of this and what happened as your child grew older? Or anyone with kidney scarring as an adult and what effect does that have as an adult?

My 5 year old is currently on medication for high blood pressure. At it's highest it was 158 and he was in hospital very poorly.
They said that over 125 his hieghr wieght etc.. He needed treatment. He needed. A high dose of a few drugs to get it stable.

He was in hospital for a kidney condition. High protien and blood in his urine.

Did the go test his urine?

I would go back and asked to he checked again and referred to a renal or neohrology department at paediatrics. High blood pressure can cause further kidney damage.

They did not test urine at the appointment.
The doctor said it could be elevated because she was a bit upset having to get it done??? (She doesn’t like hospitals and gets scared when people try to prod and poke).

Sorry pressed too soon.
They said just to go back next year.
I get dipsticks at home to routinely test urine and if anything shows up it gets sent for analysis.

So protien levels are normal?
I would check a few times this week to makes sure. Maybe the BP was high because upset. A year seems a long time to wait tho. X
