Cold urcituria?

My 3yo dd has asthma, eczema and food allergies.

Twice this week she's come out with hives on her face and hands after no contact with anything she's allergic to - they seem to come up when we leave the house and the temperature changes.

I'm so worried she's developed a reaction to the cold. It's only the beginning of the winter. Has anyone had this with their DC? Does it go away again? I can't understand why this has just come out of thin air this week

I would take pictures and show them to the GP.
I know some children are on daily antihistamines because of multiple allergies.
Is there anything on her coat that might be causing it or is she now wearing a scarf ?

I have this Along with asthma and eczema and unfortunately it has nerve gone away.Keeping well covered up and taking a daily antihistamine really helps. Horrible feeling though.

Thanks. Ugh I feel really down about this. It's come from nowhere and I have a 4 week old so already have a lot going on. Also we can't work through the milk ladder to challenge that allergy if she's taking daily antihistamines.
What age did yours suddenly arrive? I can't understand why it's popped out of nowhere. Also today it went down with piriton but reappeared less than 2 hours later as soon as we left the house again :(
No definitely not a coat or an item of clothing. I thought this first and tried different outfits.

I have cold urticaria and eczema, as does 13yo DD.

I just have to be careful about temperature changes and how I dress. I find it far, far worse if I'm wearing anything loose which brushes my skin as I move as it seems to increase the reaction so I wear a fitted thermal base layer and try to not expose my skin to the cold.

Antihistamines don't really help me.

What do you do about your face @ShowOfHands? It seems to be the only place it shows with my daughter. And it wasn't even that cold today

I wear a buff and a hat!

So it just happened again today after 40 mins outside in the park - but it's not even cold today! I did notice her hands were a bit chilly before it happened though, and that her left hand was colder and it started on the left side of her face

One of my daughters had this last year, but it hasn't happened yet this year. Other weird urticaria happens in my family.

I am similar to @ShowOfHands ...anything brushing against the rash provokes it and spreads it even further, same if I touch it or itch it
Mine usually is trunk and legs, but will creep to upper arms Never on my face though.

I am in an off phase atm, and not taking anything at all, but I know it will flare up again and I usually end up on two antihistamines, loratidine and cetirizine.

Would a barrier cream help your dd??
