Anyone else had this diagnosed? What support did you get and is there a fix?

4yo has never been dry & so we are being referred to a paediatrician to discus. Next steps.

I have no idea what to expect so wondering what others experience is?

My oldest DD had that diagnosed but at 7yo, 4 seems too early to diagnose it. They need to do ultrasound, urodynamic and/or uroflow tests, non-invasive tests but not so easy for a 4yo. Considering the bladder "small" at 4 is relative since they are growing up so fast, maybe there's some delay in the bladder's growth but usually it's just a temporary thing.
Boy or girl? What do you mean with never been dry? Total absence of bladder control, like she has no desire to urinate at all? Urinary system is quite complex, there are many factors and causes of incontinence, anyway for such young kids the most common one is constipation and 4yo still falls within the age of potty training. If you are particularly worried you could go to a pediatric urologist, but for my experience doctors would wait until 5 or 6 yo to make urology tests. The first thing they ask is a voiding diary, like when and how much pee/accidents in the previous days (weigh the dry and wet nappy), you could anticipate that.
About the fix, yes, we have been not so lucky but there's almost always a fix nowadays, or at least something to greatly improve the situation. If you can just try to not make your child experience it as a big issue, he/she is still very young but these kind of problem can have a big impact on self-esteem.
