Dent on top of toddler's head

As a baby, ny toddler's head always had a bit of a dint in it along the top from left to right. We put it down to some pressure or other while developing in the womb, but it's become less noticeable over time. Now she's two, her soft spot is no longer soft, but today I was stroking her head and noticed that there is a dent there, like a sunken soft spot but no longer soft. It's not visible through her hair- I can only feel it when I run my hand along her scalp from crown to forehead, but it is fairly noticeable to the touch when I do that. I'm not sure whether to be concerned or not- surely it should be nicely round by now? I'd ask my GP, but appointments are tough to come by these days. Any experience of this? I don't think she's had any head injuries that could account for it- she does fall over a lot but I can't recall any injuries to the top of her head and I usually apply a cold compress and check the area thoroughly whenever she's got a head bump. Thoughts?

The case of my DD sounds very similar to yours. She had quite a big soft spot in my estimation as a baby and I put it down to ventuse delivery/ preassure in a womb. She is almost 2 now and although her soft spot is fused, I can feel a dent in that area when I stroke her head. I contacted HV about it, who examined and measured her head and recommended seeing GP. The doctor examined her skull and she wasn't concerned. She said that this is most likely a shape of her skull and contacted pediatrician for a 2nd opinion. GP got back to me today confirming that pediatrician wasn't concerned too and recommended regular measurement checks (head/height/weight) with HV ensuring she stays on the same percentile. All happend within last month in local and now national lockdown in Wales, so hope it helps your concerns. Let me know what you GP says if you see him her. You're the first mum I come accross whose LO seems to have similar dent to mine, so thank you for posting hereSmile
