1 year old HIGH TEMPERATURE

On Tuesday my 1 year old daughter woke up with a high temperature of 39.3 gave her capol & cuddles temp didn't seem to go down. She seems 'ok' then her lips, hands & feet started to go blue so I took her to A&E she still had a high temperature so they gave her some nurofen which brought her temp down & sent me home. When I got home her lips went blue again & her temp was 39.9!! Gave her capol & it only brought her temp down to 39.7 so I took her back to A&E. They kept her there about 5/6 hours & her temp just wasn't coming down well it came down a bit but was always over 38.2. The doctor explained that they do not worry about temperatures in babies they worry about what is causing the temperature if it could be something life threading like meningitis which he said she clearly hasn't got anything that serious as all her other observations were all good. So today she woke up cool which was good then as the day is getting on she's getting hotter and hotter and capol or nurofen doesn't bring it down to what it should be. I'm a worrier parent as it is 😔 does anyone have any tips? I've been giving her fluids as much as she would take, I've stripped her down to her nappy etc just worried! Thanks

The temp wouldn't worry me. A temp is normally only bad if combined with other signs.

However, I'm not a worrier but the blue lips etc would really worry me

I think you should get her seen by out of hours GP at least if you are worried.

Has she had a COVID swab? She meets criteria.

I hope she feels better soon x

Give Nurofen as well.

DD2's temp doesn't come down with Calpol either.

Sorry, just seen you've given Nurofen aswell.

Call 111.

Make sure her body isn't getting cold or in a draft as her body will be trying to warm her up.

Personally I would take her back to A&E if you can't get it under control or if her lips go blue or you notice anything else.

Thanks for your replies.
They didn't give her a COVID test & didn't actually mention/considered it to be COVID!
I asked the doctor yesterday about the blue lips & they explained it's her body reacting to a temperature & as her oxygen levels were 100% it's nothing to worry about! She's due some nurofen in an hour I'll see what she's like after that....

Also do you think it could be flu 🤔 when she's walking you can tell she's aching & she can't be bothered to do anything
