I am so so done now. I want to run away!!!!! My 3.5 year old is in her second year at nursery, and we are on her 6th cold since Augast!!! Which also means shes got a terrible cough!! She suffers with a persistent dry cough that just wont fuck off anyways! Even with inhalers, allergy testing, montelukast even a sacrifice to the gods! We are seeing respiratory next week. Surely this isnt fucking normal!!! She was like it last year but not this bad! She is on vitamins daily to help boost her immune system but I may aswell just feed her water. This is really getting to me now. No heath professional will see her, only talk to me over the phone. Even after a negative covid test they still wouldn't see her (they told me they would). Any advice? Anyone else experienced this with the DC?

No nasty or judgemental comments please. They are just not needed!

Tell them you're bringing her in! She may have a chest infection that isn't clearing! We documented everything, including calls to doctors and what was said as our daughter ended up with pneumonia from "mild chickenpox" and she was turning septic, from infected chick pox scars. We were turned down 4 times by the doctor and finally I just turned up and we were blue lighted to hospital. Social services were called at hospital, but I had documented everything and took photos. Don't listen to the doctors, you know best. Push and push again.

If you’re seeing respiratory next week I’d hang on for that if possible. Make sure you don’t leave the appointment until you are satisfied you have a plan etc. Write down all your concerns, questions etc and insist on answers.

If she seems well in herself apart from the cough, no fever, no phlegm, no loss of appetite, no lethargy then id not worry too much. But you are the expert in your child, you know what’s normal for her and what’s not so ultimately you do what feels right. Medical staff would rather see a systemically well child with a cold than a seriously ill one with something more serious
