3yr old suddenly wetting herself

Hi, so my 3yr old for the last week or so needs the toilet all the time, she goes (i hear her do a full wee) but then within a few minutes wets herself ( a full wee) also sometimes she says she needs the toilet but she's already wet herself. She's been toilet trained for over a year with no accidents. Nursery commented today as she was asking to go alot but still had an accident and she had a couple last week there. I rang the Dr who is convinced it isn't a water infection as no temp and she's well in herself, and thinks it's probably she's not emptying her bladder properly, but I can't see how this can be when I hear her go for a big wee then 5mins later wet herself alot. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this before? Thank you

How much is she drinking?

Thingywhatsit · 05/10/2020 19:06

Could she be constipated? This can cause wee accidents.

Mammaaof · 05/10/2020 19:13

Just her usual amount if not a bit less, and no she's not constipated 🙈

Has she lost any weight, seem more thirsty than normal, a bit tired?
The four Ts of Type 1 diabetes are thinner, thirsty, tired, toilet (as in needing to urinate more often). Not all symptoms have to be present but worth looking out for.
Hopefully not this but worth being aware. GP should be able to test for sugars in a urine sample.

@MintChocAddict I did wonder this but shes definitely not more tired if anything she has more energy than ever x

@Mammaaof
Hopefully it's not but just worth keeping an eye on. Hope you get some answers soon.

@MintChocAddict he didn't even ask for a sample but think I will ring tomorrow and ask if I can bring one in x

Does she have drinks with sweeteners in? My DD is 4 and has been toilet trained for nearly two years, but if she has sweeteners it really over-stimulates her bladder and she has accidents, it's like she doesn't get any warning that she needs to go.

mummyh2016 · 08/10/2020 21:47

My DD was the exact same a couple of weeks ago and she was diagnosed with a water infection. She has no temperature and was well in herself so I'm surprised your GP has said that.

So an update took a sample into the doctors and came back clear but Dr said she probably has thrush although no itching or soreness but hey ill apply the cream as directed and will see what happens at the end of the course x
