Recurring vomiting and stomachache, migraine?

Has anybody experienced anything like this? Every few months or so my dd will develop a severe stomachache and vomiting. She will go 1 or 2 days vomiting and not eating then recover completley. The pain is always centered in the same place throughout the episode but can change place from episode to episode. Last time the pain was so severe that we took her to a&e, they said her symptoms ruled out everything organ related and we were told it was gastroentiritis and to go home. They also said she had a heart murmer which was due to a viral infection. The thing is the pain and vomiting comes back every few months, exactly the same symptoms, no fever, no other signs. Is this really repeated bouts of unrelated gastroentiritis? She has had 6 episodes this year. A few years ago she used to get headaches which would lead to vomiting, and would sometimes come up in huge welts (lumps the size of eggs under her skin), we were told she had migraines but when she changed school (perhaps coincidentally) it stopped completley so we wondered if it was an allergy, but a year or so later the tummy problems started. Could it be a tummy migraine, or an allergy (can't find any triggers, it seems random.) The gp does not seem interested in joining the episodes together! Also if the heart murmer isn't viral (i.e if it is a migraine) I wonder if should push harder for that to be investigated!

I can't think of anything she could be getting recurrant food poisoning from. Could that be possible?

Got two friends with DC with the same symptoms. One diagnosed with migraines and medication works, one is anxiety related and since they've put in place therapies to help their DC with the anxieties no more problems.
Definitely worth going to the GP. Also keep a general diary of what they're eating, how they are feeling and see if you can spot triggers.

I'm sorry the GP won't help. My DD had this for years and years and I could never persuade the doctors to investigate. It still happens but slightly less frequently. I strongly suspect it's related to undiagnosed thyroid issues.

Ds1 was like this from about ages 10-13. Kept getting occuprant vomiting episodes (he's always had a delicate stomach and suffers from travel sickness). The GP concluded that it may be stomach migraine and we got given migraine medication. Over the last 18 months it's got a lot better so I do wonder if there is a hormone element.

Hi Op it sounds like CVS (which I have) and is much more common in children - cyclic vomiting syndrome.
I have cyclizine at home and painkillers for flare ups.... have a look online and perhaps suggest investigations from the GP?

Had this with one of my boys, almost as soon as he turned 3. Went on till he was 5 being told he just kept getting bugs. Wiped him out each time. His skin was so rough and bobbly too. And he'd complain of hurting burps. I took him to the gp again to say I wanted them to at least try to help him, and he was prescribed omeprazole and told to try cutting out dairy. He is almost 7 and he's still in the omeprazole and still dairy free, it transformed him.
Side note, I had bf him till he was 3 and then his baby sister was born, so prior to this he's rarely drank cows milk.

Likely hormonal depending on her age . Pill May well stop it
