1-year vaccinations: can I ask to have MMR separately from the other 3?

Hi.

Sorry for yet another thread on immunisations! So we're booked for our 1-year jabs next week and I'm really worried the 4 jabs will be too much for my baby's system. She's recently started nursery and been a bit ill, on and off, with recurring snotty nose and raised temperature. She's also teething quite badly atm.

I'm not disputing the efficacy of vaccines and I plan to get them done.
But 4 jabs at the same time is quite a lot!

What are my rights? Can I ask to have the MMR vaccine separately from the other 3? Say with a 2 week delay?

Any views and experience welcome :)
Thanks

Yes you can, I did exactly this. Had about 1 month in between.

That sounds good. Did you do the 3 other ones first? One month sounds perfect...

I think so, yes, I did MMR later.

Also remember there is a second MMR - some boroughs give it at 18 months, some at 3.5 years (depends on prevalence of measles in the area I think). However even if you are in an 18 month area you can choose to delay, I did.

Thanks!

I was advised to with ds as he'd had a bad reaction to his first jabs. After that he had them spaced. However this did mean that he was about 18 months getting some of his jabs (due to postponing for illnesses as well). However they did recommend getting the MMR asap because measles was in the area.

Yes you can. I did. But pre warn before you have it done or they have to bin the other 3.

My first DC was quite ill with the mmr. But the others wasnt. I think he just reacted badly to it as he was a bit early and ill when born.

Most children cope perfectly well with the 3 injections.

Id also be thinking that your increasing time spent in a clinic. With Corona rates id rather go once than 3 times.

Yes you can but it might be worth weighing up whether you want your baby to potentially have several weeks of side effects instead of getting it all over in one go. I’d also advise getting MMR first and the others at a later date if you do decide to do them separately.

Hi there.

So we had the 3 jabs last Friday. As expected, baby was very poorly, high temperature for 24 hours despite Calpol, very grumpy, very weak (reverted to crawling instead of walking) and had shivers / shakes around her head, touching her ears crying etc.
But on the 3rd day, she was fine.

Now, I'm planning to book the MMR in 3 weeks' time, and I'd like to know what to expect.

What are the most common side effects if you do just the MMR?
It's a single injection, right?
How did your little ones take it?

Please reassure me, I'm terrified :(

Thanks
