My ten month old (today) DD just had a health visitor check and she's 13kg - well above the 99 percentile line.

She's breast and formula fed, and is just starting baby-led weaning. Should I worry that SS will be along soon? If she were well below the 5 percentile surely she'd be referred to the GP. Or do I just enjoy having a butter ball baby? 😍

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

She looks like my 9.5 month old. I've no idea what he weighs, nor do I particularly care. He's breastfed on demand, plus doing BLW at mealtimes. Some days he eats lots of solid food, some days he only eats a little, and breastfeeds more instead. He's happy and strong and seems to be thriving. Look at the child, not the charts!

My DS was 14kg at that age. He was enormous! About 1.5 inches above the 99.8th centile. Same for height. He's now a perfectly proportioned, tall, 7 year old.

He never crawled (always wondered if it was due to his bulk!), but by the time he was 3 he was just "solid".

He was also exclusively breastfed until about 8 months as he was a fussy bugger who wouldn't take a bottle or eat.....I was quite proud of my breast milk at the time Grin

Thanks for your stories. My mother says my breast milk must have a high fat content (any opportunity for a dig, eh!) The health visitor said they don't measure height/length anymore as it's inaccurate, just head circumference now. DD's was 75th percentile for that. She wears 2-3 year old clothing. When I look at pictures of DS1 at the same age he's pale, skinny and half her size, but her other brother is a similar build. Amazing how different children can be from the same parents in the same environment within a 5 year period!
