Nystan?

I’ve been prescribed nystan for my 7 week old son’s thrush however I’m struggling to give it to him - he just spits it out. Is that okay? I know it’s topical so it’s ineffective once swallowed/spat but it’s near on impossible to get such a tiny baby to hold something in their mouth. Does anyone have any tips for administering nystan? I’ve tried giving him a dummy coated in nystan immediately after giving a dose to him to act as a sort of “plug” to keep the medicine in but it doesn’t seem to be working; it’s been 3 days on it now (almost running out!) and his thrush seems to actually be getting worse - his breath now smells like mouldy bread dough Confused
