One discoloured tooth

Any teeth experts around? Dentists maybe?

One front tooth has slightly discoloured. See pictures with the flash on. No knocks that we can think of and general good teeth brushing. Doesn't hurt.

Bit sad at the thought it might be something sinister.

Recent changes in teTeh brushing have been Colgate strawberry tooth paste and the twice in last week had to use adult Colgate as we were somewhere else and forgot child toothpaste.

Thought I'd ask here first before calling dentist on Monday (if they're even seeing people?)

Baby tooth or adult tooth?

I wouldn't have thought toothpaste would have anything to do with it although make sure it has sufficient fluoride (1000-1450ppm). Looks more like tooth trauma.

Usually occurs if tooth has had a bump at some stage - doesn’t need to have been recently. Tooth will now be ‘non vital’ which means the nerve has died away. In a child unless it is causing symptoms such as pain and swelling we would generally leave well alone. If it does prove symptomatic the extraction would be the only option. This tooth usually falls out at approximately age 7.
Certainly not connected to use of adult toothpaste.

Thanks, baby teeth, aged 4. I just don't want it to go horrid and grey purely for vanity reasons! I will still speak to dentist anyway.

DD’s is like this, she did bump it. I can’t remember if the colour change happened straight after the bump or took a while to show up. I was very sad about it at first but hardly notice it now, just hope the adult tooth is ok.
