Dd 13.5 no periods

My dd is 13.5. We had a hospital appointment today and the nurse seems surprised that she hadn't started her periods yet. Another practitioner didn't blink an eye. But now I'm slightly wondering whether I should just check with the Dr....?

DD was almost 14, she was fairly average among her friends.

I didnt start my periods until 3 months before my 14th birthday. It's not unusual.

I was nearly 17 but very slim.

My dd was underweight at age 14. Once her weight reached a healthy level her periods started.

I was 14 and think the guidance is only to worry if not started by 16.

And agree it doesn't always follow the maternal side - my mum was 10 whereas my paternal grandmother was 13. Annoying to me at the time was that my younger sister did take after my mum and started at 11 - a year before I did!

I was 14 and my twin sister the month before

Nearly 15 here - 3 easy conceptions and pregnancies in my 30's.

My tall, slim DD2 didn't start hers until she was 16. They have been completely normal and regular since then. I would wait a bit before going to the GP.
