Call NHS direct...possible UTI

My dd has been glued to the loo all morning, she has a history of UTI’s but hasn’t had one for a while, she has Autism so it’s hard for her to tell me what’s going on. She’s 14 and has been having issues with irregular periods (possible PCOS), she or her period yesterday for the first time in 6 months so I’m guessing this is the cause. Does it warrant a call to NHS direct? GP surgery is not open today. Or do I just push fluids through her and hope it clears?

Does she have pain when passing urine? Stinging? Burning? What colour is her urine?

Not a troll I promise. Worked with children with severe ASD for years. Is she in there alone? It may be more of a sensory/arousal issue if she's at the stage.
Not meant to cause offence if not but was definitely common in the kids I taught.

Thanks, it’s often hard to tell with her as she has many sensory issues. We managed to get seen by a nurse practitioner at the hospital (after calling 111), managed to get a sample and was confirmed to be an infection. I usually give it a couple of days and try and up her fluid intake but we are going away next week and didn’t want her unwell or on antibiotics whilst away. She has 3 days of strong antibiotics.

So glad you got to the bottom of it and got the antibiotics. I hope you have a lovely time away ❤️
