Hello, my 14w old baby is suffering with a little reflux I'm saying it's reflux my health visitor has said it's reflux but her doctor is saying it's apnea!!
Reason being a few times now couple hours after her feed she's sat in her bouncer or laid in her Moses basket..I hear her stir when I look over her arms and her legs are moving around a lot her face is red her eyes are wide open and watery and she's struggling to breath like she's choking and a lot of saliva in her mouth where she has her mouth wide open. I pick her up straight away but she's still struggling she sorts herself out after, the longest it's lasted is about 15 seconds she cries afterwards I'm guessing because she was uncomfortable or scared I don't know. Now apnea is where a baby holds there breath for a length of time so I don't understand why the doctor said that so she's not being treated for reflux. Also it was a phone conversation/diagnosis and she's being referred to a paediatrician which will answer my questions anyway! but in the mean time while I wait for an appointment I just want to know has anyone ever heard of this, experienced it or even know what to do? I tried gaviscon it didn't agree with her.

Sounds like reflux to me. Reflux can cause episodes of apnea which are really scary. I would ask for some kind of treatment from the GP and keep her upright after feeding for 30mins, try not to lay flat if possible. Give small and frequent feeds and see if it helps.
