Hello everyone.

My son is considered small is weight and length. He always has been a good eater , but over the last two weeks he won't eat much. I've tried feeding him different options , making shapes and reducing his milk intake and he's just not having a bar of it.

Anyone have any suggestions or been through similar?
I'm worried because he's already so small and we have to keep track of it , that he may start losing weight.

How much is not much?
Maybe he is coming down with something?
Maybe an allergy yo one of the pollenscoug making him feel rotten (it can make you feel really bad and off non specifically plus have no appetite if upucare affected) there are lots outxstvthe moment.
Kids that age have weird phases.
Will he have milk if all else fails so he has something?
I was told if a child will eat nothing but chocolate mousse then give them it as long as they will eat something (by a dietitian) as at least its eating. My son was ridiculously fussy for ages and ate very little (whilst not dmall), my daughter who is on the 3rd and 5th gcentiles for eight and height stopped eating almost everything then started again.
Teething or sore mouth?

I meant yo say my daughter stopped gai I g weight but sustained hers on pretty much milk alone so specialist dietitian was unconcerned for several mo ths. She went back to normal. Give it time before you need to worry too much.

Reducing milk intake isn't a supported suggestion for getting children to eat more these days. I think Kellymom has more information about that, but basically some doctors offer this as outdated advice.

Milk still has almost a third of your child's daily energy requirements. And if they're going through a phase of not eating, it would suit them well to maybe have a bit more milk if it's something they'll happily take.

My son is also going through a phase of not eating much, except dairylea cheese strips, and milk with one of those straws that make it taste like strawberry milkshake, and breastmilk.

He's getting his molars though so I think teeth has definitely impacted his desire to chew.

Like the other pp said, if there's anything your kid will eat even if it's not the healthiest, just let them have it for now and work on offering other foods around that.

Thank you @GlamGiraffe @Couchbettato he is teething he's a slow burner my little one so it's his fifth tooth , all the other ones no problem. I will go back to trying milk , he loves milk but we told not to try subsidies it for food and he needs proper nutrition of meat and Veges to.

I believe he has allergies , he always has a snotty nose and his tonsils are always up ( we have seen specialist for both, and they're never worried )

I am like the worst for worrying , I suffered anxiety before and when things don't go "to the plan" my anxiety always appears very quickly again.

I am definitely going to see someone again to discuss allergies I think.

Teething causes snotty noses so that will ge the reason.young children are developing immunity scare supposed to catch every cold going. It's normal. Teething children dont eat, especiallyxeoth molars. Upu really have nothing to worry about. Give teething powder. You can also contact the homeopathic pharmacy in duke street london for some of their special teething formula which really helps if your child is very down. Give pain relief, cuddles and milk. My oldest child who us now 18 currently has his wisdom teeth coming through and can well express his agony. If myst he dreadful if you cant explain, hes gone from 6ft2 cannot to hardly eating a thing dk out little one isnt too unusual, teething us a phase. Nice chilled melon sticks, things like that yo tempt and soothe at the same time, cucumber too, just to try to keep the idea of eating there. It's all ok.
