Picked up DSD from school last Wednesday to find she had bites on her ankles. According to her, she's had them since the Saturday and her mum has been giving her a white tablet. We presume this is antihistamine but as she's 6 I would have expected this as liquid form. Nothing in our communication book and nothing text to DP which is in the 50/50 court order especially for letting the other parent be aware of health issues. This isn't the first time though, last March we collected DSD from school to find spots on her chest and it transpired to be shingles - completing missing the pox stage and again, mum was aware of the spots forming in the week leading up to us having her home and sought no medical advice.
Anyway, Wednesday took her straight to a late night chemist who said it wasn't pox and could be either midget bites from a field or possibly even flea bites. Gave us some calamine cream which I've been putting on frequently to stop the itch along with twice cool showers to rinse her skin.
Over this weekend they seem to be getting worse and we have had to send photos to the doctors so awaiting their call back. I've been reading up and to me, it seems it could even be bed bugs based on their pattern. The bites are on her feet, one knee, one side of her bottom, one side of hip and then inner thighs which are new. She's also got what looks like a prickly heat rash on her upper chest and back but hasn't been overheating etc. DP is now concerned it could be the Covid symptoms we've seen in children reported ie the rash but I'm not as convinced.
Has anyone any idea on what bed bug bites look like but also, what treatment if it is needs to be done at mums house as they certainly aren't from here! Or any idea what these sort of bites could be or even things to help the itch for DSD.
When I put her straight in the shower Wednesday the water was gray and DSD commented she hadn't had a wash since leaving ours the previous Thursday (Again, this is something that happens often). She's 6 if that's relevant and has asked me this morning to not take her back to her mums Friday for a week there
