My DS 6 is having problems

I'm looking for reassurance.
My son (6), over the last few days, is saying he can see things that are scary. When I ask him to describe it, he can't really. He says it's a line, and he can see it in his brain not with his eyes. He said his head doesn't hurt but feels fuzzy! So I don't think he has a headache. This mainly happens in the evening or bed time.
Last night he came down from bed saying its that scary thing again he can see. He was upset, and when I spoke to him he said "you're speaking to loud and fast", which I wasn't.
There is nothing else untoward. He's still eating and playing as normal.
Has anyone had anything similar?

I would run this by your GP.
He is 6 and small children aren't really able to explain symptoms very clearly. A good GP will be able to get a proper history and examine him.
At the very least an eye exam and neurological check.

Is it maybe an ocular migraine? Try googling images of them and ask if it looks like any of them. I would still see a GP but it might be easier to explain.

I'm actually starting to wonder if he had a nightmare one night recently, and now he gets stressed out about the possibility of it happening again and gets upset thinking about it. Because it's at bed time and he said it doesn't happen if someone is with him (ie distraction).

I’d get him checked by the GP just to be sure. But I’d prob also reassure him
And stay with him until he falls asleep in case it’s just the reassurance he needs

Poor little thing. I think a check at the gp for sure but also, if it doesn't happen when he has you with him i wouldn't be as worried. I don't think you can risk not taking him for a check but try not to worry too much. Children can't explain things well sometimes.

Oh bless him. Is he having Alice in Wonderland syndrome? It’s scary and related to headaches. Have a google. Hope he’s ok Flowers
