My son had his 1 year injections on Tuesday, he couldn’t walk the first day (111 sent us to a & e) he didn’t have a temp when we was there, but today he’s been really clingy he won’t let me put him down at all not even to go to the toilet, he’s crying, he’s got a temp of 38.2 , that temp has only came in the last 20 minutes, I gave him calpol 10 minutes ago, I’ll check in 20 minutes to see if it’s gone down, has anyone’s little ones been like this a few days after 1 year jabs? He’s still having wet nappies , drinking fluids, he wasn’t fussed on his dinner today tho x

Those jabs do tend to cause a delayed reaction although I think it’s around days 7-10 it’s most likely. It’s good paracetamol is bringing his temperature down and that he is well in himself.

@SunbathingDragon it isn't bringing his temp down, it has gone up to 38.7 now x

Oh sorry, I misunderstood and thought you meant it had. Calpol will take longer than twenty mins to make a difference, and ibuprofen is often better and bringing temperatures down. I know it feels a worry to you, but I wouldn’t even medicate for that temperature unless the child was otherwise obviously unwell or distressed.

Watch out for a quickly spiking temperature, which is more a concern than just a high temperature on its own. Do call 111 if you need further reassurance though. Children do like to worry us.

I'd keep an eye but 38.2 and 38.7 really aren't a temperature to be that concerned about. Give ibruprofen as well and monitor

I've spoken to 111, waiting for out of Hours to ring now, his temp has gone up to 39.1 x

Alternate calpol and nurofen to keep temp at bay. mMR often has delayed reactions.
