5 year old sweating at night

Anyone else had a very sweaty sleeper? DD 5 has always sweated loads in the 1st hour she falls asleep. It’s never occurred to me that it was anything abnormal but google has me a bit worried I should have had her checked out. She’s fit and healthy, no other strange symptoms so my feeling is that it’s just the way she is. However it’s not very comfortable and her sheets are soaked, horrible that she has to lie in them all night (She never wakes soggy) or I risk waking her up just to change her. Anyone had any result with wool bedding? She does wear long pjs which is t a great idea but I think she then gets chilly in the night in shorts. Any tips or advice appreciated.

Do you have one of those plastic mattress protectors? Does she eat too close to bedtime? Hot bath before bed? All these can contribute. Plus it's rather warm atm too.

My 2 year old wears just a nappy and shorts to bed. He gets super hot when I go into him before I go to bed to check on him. It's really warm at nights at the moment. I would ditch the long PJs and see if that helps. If she gets cold she can snuggle down into her duvet.

Both of my DC are sweaty at night, always have been, both no health issues that we know of, they just get hot at the start of the night.

My son is like this, and my daughter was when she was younger but she is a teenager now and seems to have grown out of it.

It had me worried to begin with as well, but it seems to just be how some people are. I think it's more of a concern if it starts suddenly and is accompanied by other symptoms.

My son is like this. He’s like a little pig. If he falls asleep on me I have to change my shirt as he sweats right through it.

Thanks all. I think it’s fairly common? We will definitely start by making her wear lighter clothes to bed. I can always add blankets on top later if I think she’s going to be cold. She does have a hot bath every night, so that night not be helping.
