Recommendation for highchair for younger baby

My baby is 14 weeks old. She's very inquisitive and she gets extremely upset when we eat, we're starting to think she's jealous of me eating. We've now resorted to putting on little baby bum on netflix and sitting her right in front of the TV just so we can have dinner without her crying and screaming while we eat (bad parenting I know!). She has had bad reflux since she was tiny and we've been told by the health visitor that she may show signs of weaning early, and if she shows all the signs then she may want to start from 17 weeks.

Given how she reacts when we eat and she is showing all the other signs of getting ready, we really do think that she is going to be ready to start weaning at 17 weeks old.

So my question is, can anyone recommend a highchair suitable for a 4 month old that won't break the bank? I'm also starting to think she would be much happier just sat in a high chair so she can see what we're doing and keep her occupied better rather than sitting her in front of little baby bum (we're also sick of hearing the 8 different versions of the wheels on the bus and twinkle twinkle little star!)

you could try the bumbo floor seat link. Most highchairs are for dc aged 6months plus, so the bumbo might be a good option until she is around 7 months, and then you can switch to a highchair.

This one, it's old now so hard to find but DS1 had it from 4 months to about age 3, it's adjustable so it fits them really well. www.amazon.co.uk/Fisher-Price-Healthy-Care-Booster-Seat/dp/B0002VZ21E?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Bumbos aren't suitable for eating in, they put baby in a weird position. I would think any high chair would be equally as suitable, you just might have to pad around her with rolled up towels. I would not wean 2 months early on the advice of a HV though.

I had a Chicco Happy Snack high chair, it folded up, had a basket underneath, wasn't too expensive & still looked like new when ds no longer needed it, you could also take the tray off to sit your little one up at the table.

The Ikea high chair with insert is great for small babies in my opinion - it's enclosed and supportive. I've had all 3 of my kids practising sitting in there from 4 months. Agree with pp that I'd be wary of early weaning especially if she can't sit up straight. You could try having her sit with you at the table with some toys - that may satisfy her desire to be with you.

You might also find Ikea Antilop with the inflatable insert is fine.

Sorry, I thought I had posted that! Xposted!

DS also had reflux and we weaned are 17 weeks (made the world of difference, he never showed reflux symptoms again thanks to that and the omeprazole - although he's still on omeprazole at 16 months).

To help the reflux, we sat him in the Ikea antilop with the inflatable insert from 3 months (just for very short periods). It gave great support as you can inflate the cushion more or less, as needed.

Thank you all, sounds like the IKEA chair is the one to go for!
