Stammer

My daughter will be 3 in September she's come home after being her father for a couple of days with a stammer. Speech has never been a concern she's speaks clear and well for her age.
Now all of sudden she can't say 'I want' (for example) without saying 'I I I I I I I want'.
I can see she wants to finish the sentence correctly as she'll close her eyes, bow her had and cover her mouth when the stammer is particularly bad. It seems to be an issue with any sentence that begins with 'I', should I be concerned or is it all part of her development. She's my only child so I'm first parent winging it.

Hi Kylie
Did you get any answers to this from anywhere or has it cleared up or got any worse.
This has just started happening all of a sudden to my son, also 3 in September.
Thanks x

Hi
You'll be relieved to know my daughters stammer completely cleared up with in 2 weeks.
I believe her mental capabilities slightly outweighed her physical capabilities during a growth spurt but quickly sorted itself out. So don't worry. X

Thank you for replying - I'm relieved to hear that and glad for you and your wee one that all is ok at your end.
Thanks a lot x

This happened to me with one of my dc. It happened in short bursts from about the age of 2 and a half to nine! We just totally pretended it wasn’t there (so as not to make him anxious) and slowed down our own speech a little bit. He’s a teenager now, and is fine.
