8 week old reacted to vaccines; what now? Worried

My DS2 had his 8 week vaccinations a while back, he's almost 22 weeks now. He was fine immediately after and I followed the nurses guidance about the 3 doses of calpol. About 48 hours later his body broke out in bright red blotches all over including face, torso and limbs. I naturally freaked out and took him to the GP straight away and she decided that he had reacted to the vaccine and told me to give him piriton as soon as I got home.
I did and the blotches were gone within the hour. At the follow up appointment the next day she said we should hold off on anymore rounds of vaccines until he can be assessed for allergies. She put in a referal to pediatrics allergy clinic and then Covid happened. We finally have an appointment coming up in 2 weeks time.

Sorry for the long essay but my question is what should we expect? The Gp suggested it could be an egg protein allergy. If that's the case can he still get vaccinated? Just anxious and worried as my first child didn't have any problems and he's fully vaccinated.

Sorry that this happened. What a worry for you. They certainly do make egg free vaccines- don't worry. vaccines are normally cultured on fertilised hens eggs, but an egg allergy isn't uncommon, so they are just cultured on a different animals cells instead. In some cases, a GP practice might need to order the specific vaccine in, but as said, its not that uncommon x
