Nose crusts. Polyps? Allergy?

for a year or so my DD5 has had reoccurring inner nasal issues. Starts with nose full of boogers and then starts to harden into big green crusts Confused She gets prescribed naseptin antibiotic cream which clears it up, then it comes back. Last time the gp suggested daily saline nasal sprays , but the crusts keep coming back. Could it be polyps or something? She had tonsils and adenoids removed in Oct 2018. Anyone had similar with their DCs? She is getting irritated with the creams and sprays. It's not regular colds, no running nose or other symptoms, but when the crusts are big she is very nasally obviously

If she has had excessive nasal discharge for over a year, it is worth getting a referral to identify the source of the excess mucus.

You could try an antihistamine for a week to see if there might be an allergic causes, but you need an ENT specialist.
In the meantime, can you try to teach her how to blow the nose properly to remove excess mucus before they solidify? She can practise by closing one nostril and try to blow a birthday candle with the other.
Nasal irrigation is extremely unpleasant but should prevent the solidification of the mucus. It doesn't however solve the cause and origin of that excess liquid.

Push for referral. Very hard in Covid-time , but given they take ages anyway.... When talking to doctor, more than nasal crust, try to use words such as nasal discharge, excessive mucus that cause blockage, pain, discomfort, ...
And keep doing the nasal irrigations with saline. But careful with nasal spray because they could start a vicious cycle

You could also try to see if you can identify what triggers them if allergy related. Any mould in her room, dust? Change bag in hoover and hoover daily, change detergents in bathroom and laundry for low allergy and ventilate. Avoid bleach or any chlorine based detergents (toilet cleaner) .

But really you need a medical professional. All I have suggested is while you wait.

Thank you. I will try those suggestions.

I did mention anything ENT referal at the beginning of the year, so I will push for this as its not resolving
