Abusive Ex and Childrens Hospital Records

So to cut a VERY long story short I have an extremely abusive ex husband who thankfully at the moment has supervised contact with my 2 year old. He has a personality disorder and has no insight into his own behaviour. One of the symptoms of this disorder is that he takes me to court at the drop of a hat and is highly manipulative , this has left me financially ruined (he is a high earner). So last week my son manged to spill a bottle of calpol over himself and on the floor. I understand this was careless parenting and im not here to be judged (trust me I judged myself enough). I was worried that he may have ingested some of the 30ml that was left in the bottle so I took him to urgent care and then to A&E. He was fine and needed no treatment or blood tests and the drs have said it happens all the time. If I tell my ex he will take me to court and use the system to manipulate me any way he can but now im worried he will see this on the medical records if he requests them from my GP. Do hospital records show for GP? Im thinking of just taking the risk and hoping I get away with it but as usual I am worried sick. He has really good legal representation and is able to spin everything. Thanks for all your support.

There will likely be some kind of hospital notification of attendance. It's very unlikely it will have loads of information, probably just something like "accidental ingestion - Calpol" and a date of attendance.

Your situation sounds horrible - I really struggle to see how such a completely benign event (well within the range of "normal childhood things that happen") could be used against you but also aware there are some horrible people our there. Do you have access to legal advice?

Usually when in hospital you're asked for your gp's details so some sort of report would go to them informing them yes. You could ask your GP if it's noted anywhere. Sometimes things get missed so hard to say for sure

Usually an automated report summary will go to the GP and health visitor.

I don't think you need to do anything, certainly don't tell him. If he comes across it in a notes request then so be it. If you try to suppress the information it could be seen as a child protection issue so be careful.
Good luck.
