What's going on with son's scalp? (Pictures attached - don't click if squeamish!)

Hi everyone, I'm wondering if anyone might know what my toddler could have going on on his scalp and how best to treat it?

He has these big greasy flakes which don't seem to bother him or itch, and it doesn't look red underneath. Thought just seborrheic dermatitis (I get this too) but when I tried to pull flakes out the hair easily came away with them in my fingers! Would that normally happen in this case?

I can't get him to a GP at the moment for obvious reasons and am wondering how best to treat it. Also want to check it's not something he could pass on, like tinea capitis.

He does have a history of eczema which is otherwise well controlled at the moment (tiny bit behind his ears).

Would be grateful for any words of wisdom!

I used olive oil on my sons cradle cap (I have no idea if they recommend it these days) it came off a treat along with all of his hair Blush. He is 15 now and had a beautiful thatch.

Can I recommend swimming goggles for hair washing confidence! Worked a treat for my dc.

And oil up - looks like cradle cap

Both my daughters had it. I rubbed oil on and gentle massage (picked) the bits out. I think the hair that comes with it is hair that should have already fallen away but is trapped in the gunk. My eldest had a small patch where the haor hadn't grown properly underneath but it sorted itself out pretty quickly.

I'm not usually a sporner but will admit to getting a little excited when my 5 year old told me she had a crusty head a couple of weeks ago. She was lying with her head on my lap covered on coconut oil within a minute Blush

You can get combs specifically made for cradle cap. It has a soft massager bit and then a comb. Works really well.

It does look like cradle cap but I would get it checked if the hair is failing out. My dd5 still has cradle cap. Some times I put oil on for a few hours then let her soak in the bath then comb it out. I mostly just leave it as it doesn't cause any issues. Her hair only fell out with it when she was a baby

I get psoriasis of the scalp and it's like this. I use a bit comb which helps get rid of flaky bits. I don't lose my hair though
