Inflammatory markers blood test?

My DS is 13. He has recently been having a few issues, feeling depressed and mild self harming. He is overweight. Lethargic and disinterested. I'm trying to be brutally honest here.
I have hypothyroidism as does my mom. We had his blood tested to check for this which to be honest I was hoping would come back positive and we could get him sorted. However the results for thyroid are ok. He has been asked to go back for another test today as his iron is very low and the nurse has said he has inflammatory markers.

Ex h took him to the appointment for results and didn't seem to have much info. Does anyone have any idea what this could mean? I'm feeling a bit worried and lost and I'm very reluctant to google as we all know Dr Google will be giving me a cancer diagnosis before I've finished typing! Has anyone else's teen had this?

Inflammatory markers could mean his white cell count is high and his crp level is raised- we would all have high markers if we have a cold for example, if they’re too high then that would indicate an infection.
Do you know what his levels were? And what his iron levels were?
What’s his diet like? I have a ds13 who would eat junk food all day if I let him.
Does he do any exercise at all? Walk the dog? Walk to school? Anything? My ds is a keen skateboarder and walks to and from school but also will quite happily play on his xbox all day if I let him!!

Take him back to the gp for the results of today’s tests and get some answers.

Try and build up his self esteem -easy turns he to say I know.
