Hi all
Just wondering if you think my nearly 5month old exclusively breast fed baby may have worms?
We have a poorly toddler in the house too at mo so could be that he's just picked up that bug?
Understand treatment just from a chemist and not gp?

Warning graphic language!
Not quite sure, but usually the worms are wiggling...do you see any wiggling? And look like little bits of white wiggley string. Or are the white bits just little unmoving clumps? In that case, probably just another different looking normal BF poopGrin
good luck...if they are worms, get the treatment and then you must thoroughly and properly clean and hoover practically everything as the worms lay eggs that are picked up on human hands or get in bed linens, clothes, etc. Usually they only come out at night when the child is asleep and wiggle around, then go back inside unless they come out in the poopy diaperShock

No,worms are white and your child would have itching, they also wriggle.

FannyFifer · 04/02/2020 15:30

No worms there, just looks like a mucusy unwell pop.

One other thing...my DS had a few of those mucous poos and GP said it was just because he was producing more saliva since he was starting to teethe. It's very unnerving sometimes to be a mom to DC....just when you think you have them sorted, they go and throw a curve...Grin

Worms cause really painful itching at night. You can see tiny whites worm crawling out of you child's bottom when you check at night my son has them about 6 months ago and would be sobbing with the pain and itching at night.
