16 week vaccinations allergic reaction

Hi my DS had his 16 week vaccinations on Thursday, he slept most of Thursday and Friday and seemed nearly back to normal by Saturday but on Sunday at bath time I noticed he had a few red blotchy rashes on his body (chest, stomach, leg). Woke up on Monday morning and the rash was also on his face but looked blistered too (hives?), the rashes were also bigger and angrier looking on his body so got him in at the doctors to be told he is having an allergic reaction to something but they will not test to find out what and gave me liquid antihistamines for him. The rashes did seem to fade after an hour or so but I noticed they come back each time he feeds (EBF) so it must be something that I am eating but nothing in my diet has changed in all of the time I have been breastfeeding. He also doesn't seem bothered by them in the slightest so I don't think the reaction is upsetting his belly at least and he is feeding normally. It may be coincidental but for it to happen 3 days after his vaccinations makes me think it is linked. Has anyone else ever had this or similar? Is there anything I can do?

I have reregistered for this so no previous posting history. There are risks associated with vaccines that people are reluctant to talk about, especially on Mumsnet. I am not going to turn this into an anti-vaccine thread so I will PM you.

It’s possible for allergies including CMPA to develop when breastfeeding. My nephew was fine until about 18 weeks when he started getting hives too with breastmilk - DS replaced cows milk in her diet with fortified goat milk and he was fine. Suggest you create a food / symptom diary so you know how soon after eating anything he gets the rash then return to the GP and demand an allergy test / referral. For your sake, if you want to be taken seriously, don’t mention the vaccines - they won’t take you seriously or offer you any tests.

Chat to your HV. That's what they are for.

My HV hasn't been the most helpful. I've tried to get in touch with her a few times (only have main office number) and keep being told she is out/in training/on holiday. HV told me to ask for duty if she is unavailable but I have been told they are not available either so have had to stick with Dr.

I imagine getting GP appt is challenging.
Have you asked a pharmacist to look at it?
