HPV vaccine at GPs?

Hi, my 14 year old son is due his HPV vaccine at school in the next couple of weeks. The problem is he is absolutely terrified of needles. He has been saying he would have it done at school with his friends but is now getting very worked up about it as it gets nearer. He had the meningitis vaccinations last year and actually passed out with fear. It was really difficult for me to persuade him to get them done, I was obviously very proud he managed it but he's so worried about this happening in front of his pals. Has anyone had their child's done at the gp instead of at school? Is this even possible? Who would I have to speak to? Thanks for any advice.

In our area it’s only the school nurses who do imms and only at school or a catch up clinic (at local venue). Call the provider and see if they could suggest an alternative - for example having him & you attend an appointment at their base / before the other children in their year get there’s etc.
