One year old injections - my toddler won’t walk!

My 14 month old son had his one year injections yesterday and now won’t walk! He’s been walking since 10 ten months and is v stable and exploring everything....but it’s like he’s lost the use of his legs today. I wonder if they are sore from the four injections. He is sat on the floor and won’t move - just reaches out for me!!

Has anyone else had this?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

he's very likely sore from the injections, did he have all four in the thighs? He has that dead leg feeling, hopefully he will forget about it soon enough.

His legs are probably a little sore from the injections so I wouldn’t worry unless it lasts more than a few days, the area of the injection can swell or feel a little tender.

Don't worry... we had the same thing with our LO.... lasted 48 hours and then he was back to running around.

Mine also stopped walking - and talking - for a couple of days. And didn't smile or giggle for a fortnight. Horrible time.

Necessary though. And the side effects pass.

Thanks guys. I have to say, it’s made changing his nappy much easier! Thankfully I’m not working today, so we’re having lots of cuddles.

@friedasCarLoad oh crikey - walking and talking. That must have been worrying.

How is he today?

Same happened to mine. I totally freaked out but it passed very quickly. He had the injection in the morning, the swelling started in the late afternoon and it was in the evening I noticed he couldn't move! The following morning he was fine.
Hope your little one will feel better soon, but obviously call 111/go tot the GP/go to A&E if you are concerned.
